Frequently Asked Questions

How do I arrange a house call in the Salt Lake City and surrounding areas?

All you need to do is call our appointment line at (435) 774-8517. We will then discuss your foot problem and schedule the house call to fit with your schedule.

What if I have an Urgent Foot Problem and want to be seen right away?

In the vast majority of cases, we can have the doctor at your home in less time than it would take for you to get to the Emergency Room and see a doctor. You just simply wait in the comfort of your own home. We offer house calls 24 hours a day, everyday. Please see the rates section of this site.

Will my insurance company reimburse me for house call visits by a podiatrist in Salt Lake City?

Insurance companies (especially PPO plans) will often reimburse a large portion of house call services as an “out-of-network” provider.  At the conclusion of your visit, we will provide you with a complete itemization of all charges that you paid for in a format known as a “superbill.”  The superbill will outline all of the required diagnosis codes (called ICD-9 codes) and procedure codes (called CPT codes). With these codes that we provide for you, the insurance company will be able to process the insurance claim that you submit to them.

We also provide a letter that explains all of the results of your visit and treatment. You may share this treatment plan letter with your insurance company, if they request medical justification for the house call and/or any procedures that were performed to treat your foot or ankle problem. Please contact your insurance company to verify that you have “out-of-network” benefits prior to scheduling your visit.

How do I pay for podiatry house call visits with Dr. Heninger?

In order to provide you with the highest level of service and convenience, we maintain a direct-practice model for our home visits. We offer extended home visits, email and telephone access to our podiatric physician and surgeon, in addition to house calls to treat a range of foot conditions. We are a fee-for-service practice for these home visits. Payment for visits may be made with check, cash, Visa, Mastercard, or  Paypal. Some patients also choose to pay with their flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health reimbursement accounts (HRAs) or health savings accounts (HSAs) to pay for services. Check with your accountant to determine the tax advantages of these methods of payment for health-related services.

Can I contact my house call foot doctor directly if I have a question?

Of course! We belive direct access to the doctor is an important component of quality health care. All of our patients are given the cell phone number and personal email of our podiatric physician and surgeon. As a client, you have the ability to get the answers you need, whenever you need, by phone, email, text message, or in person through an house call.

Can I get a copy of the complete Privacy Policy?

Yes, this will be sent to you via email prior to a scheduled visit.

Can I contact my doctor directly if I need a medication refill?

Absolutely!  Any patient previously treated by the doctor can receive refills on existing non-narcotic prescriptions over the phone for a small fee. We cannot offer prescription refills for patients who have not yet received direct care from our physician. It is against the law in most states to prescribe any medication over the phone without an examination. Existing patients may call the doctor directly to request prescription refills.

Does Dr. Heninger see Medicare patients?

Yes, however he only sees Medicare patients at his physical office in Cache Valley, he will not see Medicare patients at their private individual homes.

Can I complete my paperwork before the doctor makes my house call?

Yes! In order to save even more time, you can complete the Medical History Form and either fax or email it back to us. Otherwise Dr. Heninger will go over it with you as soon as he gets to your home or your office for the house call appointment.
